Can paypal take back the money i received from a friend and family trancsaction?

My friend from abroad sent me $1000 as friend and family but he said he sent it with a wrong bank account and that acct doesnt have enough balance. Now i'm afraid to take that money out because i dont know if paypal will take back that fund from me

When someone pays you its never instant on their side, paypal CREDIT you the funds and then paypal take the wait for the funds to transfer from the senders bank account.

So 1 of 2 things should happen, as long as its marked as COMPLETED on the senders end then paypal has credited you the funds, if the bank say no when paypal apply for the funds then they will put the senders account into negative until he pays them back again OR the bank will allow the funds to transfer and the senders account will go overdrawn.
