Buying pets with paypal

Wanting to use PayPal for an online dog (pet) purchase. Am I covered by PayPal if I dont receive my puppy

Haven't bought dog yet. Just afraid of online scams. I have read user agreement but nothing talks about "live" animals

But it is still goods and services you are buying so certain terms of Purchase Protection applies. For example, the item (puppy) has to be shipped with tracking not picked up (Item Not Received) or different breed of dog than what you wanted (Significantly Not As Described (SNAD)).
