Be aware of scams

I have just received a text message stating my paypal account has been suspended due to a payment "bouncing". It gave me a link in the text message to "resolve" the issue. I did not click on the link, and i advise if others get a similiar text to not click on any links or go to any additional sites it tells you to. This was in the UK from a UK phone number. Always log into paypal through your usual methods when checking emails or texts, never through links even if they seem legitamate. This is the first time i have had a scam through to my mobile phone which isn't actually linked to paypal anyway 🙄

Yep very common scam.....

If its a spoof, NEVER USE ANY LINK.

Firstly if the email/text addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.

Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email/text to ''cancel'' any transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.

If there was a problem with your account Paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email or by downloading an attachment, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.
