Am I being scammed?

I’m new to receiving payments through PayPal and I’ve received an email saying that I need to provide a tracking number for the item I’m selling and then the money will show in my PayPal account. Am I being scammed? The email was from paypalupdates

Yes, its a scam. PayPal does not use email address beginning with paypalupdates.

PayPal gives you option to add tracking info AFTER receiving payment, NEVER before. And PayPal never asks you to provide tracking through email. Only through the Payment Received transaction record in your PayPal account.
