Account Made using my email

Someone has made an account with an email of mine. I received an email stating that Paypal One Touch was activated on the account and when I try and recover the account an unknown phone number appears so I cannot get access to the account back. Phones and messages are down due to Corona virus is there anything I can do?

You won't be able to take the PayPal account over like that because the account info may not be yours and if you can't verify the info other than email address, PayPal can't let you have access. You've already seen that the phone number is unrecognizable. I can't explain specifically why a PayPal account was able to be registered under your email address. Did you get an email about confirming the email address after sign up? Best to get rid of the email account altogether and create a new email account. And check all your financials to make sure they weren't sent any confirmation codes and small deposits as one does when adding a bank account or card.

 

PayPal can send an email to the person or entity who created the account to request a change their of email address but can't force them. 

 

To contact customer service:

  1. Log on.
  2. Click HELP at the top menu.
  3. Scroll down and click CONTACT US.
  4. Scroll down to click CALL US or other contact options.

 

Call early, during business hours, west coast time to try to get a US rep.

I have the same issue.

1) Paypal cannot email the person as they entered MY email address when they set up the account - they can only email ME.

2) I'm cannot delete my email address as it is used for work

3) I shouldn't have to delete my email address.

4) I cannot message paypal because messaging is not available at the moment

5) I cannot call paypay because the system cannot pass me through to a live operator and tells me to send them a message online. Which I cannot do.

 

Total deadlock!
