Whenever API Username, Password, and Signature are needed, is that always the Express Checkout?

I'm struggling to integrate a payment gateway. I'm trying different solutions, all of which require the API Username, Password, and Signature credentials.
I'm having trouble contacting support and expressing my problem, so let me try a basic question.
Is Express Checkout the name for the PayPal product that is being used whenever the API Username, Password, and Signature are being requested by a third-party widget? Is all the information I read about Express Checkout payflow always relevant whenever those three API credentials are used for authentication? I'm confused about what exactly these two plug-ins I'm trying to use are doing on PayPal's end.
I've tried to ask for help here, but I keep accidentally posting on the general commmunity forum, rather than this tech support forum. Here are my old threads:

Thank you.

so, to answer your question.... it could be 🙂
The API credentials are used across various PayPal API products including Express Checkout, but also covers other checkout products like Adaptive Payments and Pro (Card Payments). Although if its branded as PayPal checkout I suspect they are Express Checkout.
Can you post a link to the specific widgets you mentioned and I can try to verify that they are Express Checkout Widgets.

Thank you.
TheBookingButton explicitly uses Express Checkout for credit card processing, and I don't think it uses the PayPal checkout redirect flow. Unless it does and I've never seen it, because it's never been successful to that point.

BedBooking uses a checkout redirect flow where the customer signs in to his or her buyer account, but it uses the same API credentials as for Express Checkout I think.

Hi again,
Just wondering if you have sorted things out.
I see the booking systems you mention are part of Wordpress.
Looking around I see the developer can answer this question: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/payment-mode/
https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/bedbooking-booking-calendar-reservation-system/
The way it is described does not follow our name convention so it is hard to guess:
"ID Sellers / Payments
Authorization key
Key
Second key"
I would say a quick email to the developer might clarify things.
Cheers
Aaron
