Valid API alternative to donation button?

Hello fellow PayPal developers. Currently I have a "Donate" button on my site.

The donation button has 2 major features that I use:

• Accept all forms of payment that PayPal allows (including Credit Card, PayPal account, etc.)
• Allow the customer to choose an amount.

So all I care about is: Was the payment successful and for how much was it?

The question:

Is there a (REST) Api call that allows the same functionality?
