How do I transfer from a student account to a regular account?

I turn 18 this Saturday and was wondering when I could make my own, sperate account.

You will need to open a new PayPal account (Personal, Premier or Business) and link your credit card, your debit card and/or your bank account.

Thanks. I do have a paypal card, though. Will I just have to shred it and when I make an account, order the new one or is there a way I can still use it.
