 Hi,

      I received a refund from a shop for £121.49 and immediately Paypal transfered £39.90 of that refund to my designated bank account without anyone authorising it. Anyone had this happen to them or know why?

Refunds automatically go back to where you sourced the original payment.

So you must have used up some funds already in your paypal balance to make the payment so they went back there and the rest came from your linked bank account or debit card so it went back to your bank account.
