card link issues

Hi, I deleted a previous account and set up a new one. The new one will not allow me to register my card as it is linked to the previous account,it says I should remove the card from my other account, however as I closed the previous account I cannot delete the card in it.

Seems an odd thing to do, why would you close an account then straightaway open another one?

Anyway as you didn't remove the card first you would have to contact customer services and see if they can remove it from the closed account for you.

 

Click on the words "Help / Contact" at the bottom of paypals pages and use the phone option in the blue band at the top OR very bottom of page dependent on what country you are in. Scroll down past the list of help questions and click on 'Call us' bottom of that page. Log in and get the code.

have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a personal message from their facebook or twitter pages.

I actually did remove the card and was sent a message 

"you removed a card ending in 4465 from your PayPal account. no new payments will be processed on this card" so i was surprised to get a message that the same card was still linked to the account..

You have to allow time for the system to play catch up, nothing is fast on paypal. 🤔

Try in 24-72 hours and it should link.
