Hi, I am about to sell a pair of shoes for £500 and was wondering if Paypal would put my money on hold like it does on ebay? Im selling the shoes as I have rent due in 5 days so I need the money asap and I know that when I sell things on Ebay it holds my money for 21 days but I'm hoping that it wont when I'm not selling through ebay.
Don't rely on PayPal if you need emergency cash. Best better borrow it from a friend or family member who has the cash on hand/in their bank account to write you a check or give you cash in hand to pay your rent.
And it is not a given that the money from the sale is completely yours as it can later be reversed if buyer reports a problem within 180 days from date of payment (or within the first 21 days that PayPal holds the funds for) anyway.
