Trying to verify my account by linking it to my Wells Fargo account but I keep getting this alert ("We're sorry. We're not able to process your request right now. Please try again later."). Is this an issue on my end?

Paypal is 'country specific' so advice often depends on what country you are in. As you have not added your country to your community profile or said in your post then we can't help at the moment.
