Unpaid balance

I owe PP 200$ish, and the acct that I had linked to it is no longer open. It will not let me delete that card or acct. # maybe cause they were my primary. But if I put another card on pp that I'm using for other things will pay pal just automatically take the whole balance due? Or if I put a card with $$on it linked to pp will it wait for me to make a payment of my desired amount. So as to not pay it all at once and put my other card in trouble. Thx in advance. Chris's M.

Hi @Cregalis,

I'm sorry to hear that you were unable to remove a card. That would likely be because of one of three things. There may be a pending payment with that card, or a pending bank-funded payment that uses that card as the backup payment method, or there's a subscription or billing agreement associated with that card.

If you add a new card, the negative balance will not automatically be taken from that card. If you try to make a purchase, the full amount of the balance will be taken as well as the amount of the payment, but that would still require your action to initiate that payment.
