Remove obsolete and unused bank accounts

I am attempting to remove an obsolete bank account and one that I will be closing in the near future.

Am being informed that they cannot be closed because of pending transaction, there are definitely no pending transactions.

I do have a primary account and also a credit card in my Paypal account, so I'm confused as to why I cannot close these accounts.

Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having the exact issue as smuk stated above. No pending transactions to my knowledge and receive the notification that there are when attempting to remove the account. Also, like smuk, I too have designated a different Primary/Preferred Account and a different backup prior to attempted removal of the old account. Hope this can be resolved soon so as to avoid attempts to charge this account after it has been closed (not yet, soon).
