Payment on Hold

I have sold my car.  The highest bidder paid via paypal yesterday morning and picked up the car yesterday evening.

so I have no car and no money as my paypal account says it is on hold and isn't due to be released until 6 October.

How can ebay get away with this?  I have sold my car and want my money.

I have been an ebay user for over 10 years
