Payment issue

I received a payment which is not on balance and not on hold, trying to refund its telling me insufficient funds.i just see in transaction history.who has ever come across that and what could be the issue?

how did you figure it out? basically I have money on hold via PayPal and I don't even see a history of it I only know it cuz I called my credit card and they told me I didn't have enough funds on my card for the transaction, so it was declined, and yet PayPal is somehow still holding my money. cannot even open a case, because its not visible in my activity.
