New card is expired

I have received email message that my card was expired. I removed my expired card from paypal my account and try to prepare new card details. I have introduced card number from new one, exp.date and 3-digit for security and click Add card. Unfortunatelly I have received message : This debit or credit card has expired. Please update the expiration date for this card or use a different card.

Whether is the problem that the old and new card have same number.
