Moved from Ireland to UK help with currency payments

Hi guys
I lived in Ireland and set up my PayPal there (currency is Euro) I have now moved to the UK (currency British Pound) I have set my PayPal to receive payments in UK British pound etc but when transferring money from my PayPal to my UK bank it's being converted from Euro to GBP, example I sent £75.00 sterling to my UK bank, but the bank only received £72.00 so do I have to close my PayPal account down and open it up again in the UK so that all transactions will be in British pounds, or is there a way to transfer my account over to UK. Hope that makes sense 🙂 Thank you for your help Sean

Paypal is country specific so if you move countries you have to open another paypal account in the country you reside in and add an address / phone number / and bank accounts from within that country.
You are supposed to withdraw any funds / resolve issues / remove cards and bank accounts before you leave your old country. If you don't then you may have problems doing so once you have moved.
Advice is voluntary.

yu mean you manage to have your irish based Paypal account linked to a UK bank account ?andno problem linking and transferring money?

Hi, I moved from Ireland to UK over a year ago. My Irish bank account is closed down. I tried to link my UK bank account to paypal n was asked to verify an Irish phone number, which also no longer exists. I still have over £27 in my paypal account, which I don't want to lose. I want to be able to use paypal again. I also have an old email address linked to paypal which I haven't used in years. I want to update the whole thing as soon as possible. Not being able to move countries with paypal is a real pain in the proverbial. I really want to get this sorted asap.

You should really withdraw any funds / resolve issues / remove cards and bank accounts before you move countries. If you don't then you may have problems doing so once you have moved and may need to contact customer services for help to resolve things.
