Money received pending for more than 90 days?

I received money from an acquaintance more than 90 days ago, and it is still showing as pending. Does the sender have to do something to fully clear this money? Is there something the recipient can do?

Have to mark the transaction as Processed in your PayPal account by clicking the transaction and selecting an order status and then ask the sender to confirm receipt.
I can't see how this payment is still pending for 90 days. Something doesn't seem right. At the most is 21 days. Make sure it isn't fake email.

I may have misrepresented my case, when I wrote the subject as "money received." I am not sure that the money received was actually added to my balance. It's been in pending status since day 1. I assumed it would eventually clear, but never did. Still shows as pending.
