Money on Hold

A friend just sent money to me and its now on hold..it saying im a new seller and to get my money faster i would need a tracking order for what i was selling.. But..im not a seller..i havent sold anything..what do i do?

Its down to how the payment was SENT to your account.

1. If they sent using money > goods / services option then paypal would see you as a seller and apply the new seller hold. They would also charge you a fee.

2. If they had sent using the send money > family / friends option then you would have had the payment instantly with no fee. (However that option is not available in every country).

There are however some occasions where friends / family payments are held for reviews but these are normally only 24 hours.

I have had this happen for the second time in two weeks. I'm sending money to a friend (the same friend). I'm choosing the Friends and Family option. I'm not selling anything or buying anything. She's not selling or buying anything. Yet PayPal has again put the payment on hold. The only thing I can possibly think of is that I am choosing to have my credit card company convert my money from Canadian to American, and so PayPal is losing their conversion fee, so they're making it difficult for me to do even a simple transaction. I have no other idea why they would repeatedly put a hold on my money being sent to her.
