Money being held, but no way to confirm that the item was received.

We bought a freezer from a guy, picked it up already, and paid using PayPal. He says his account states that the money is being held until we confirm that we've received the freezer. However, we can't find anywhere for us to convey to PayPal that we indeed have the freezer.

 

I have no idea what to do to help the guy because the money has been removed from our account already.

If you collected the item then the seller can mark the item as shipped in the PayPal transaction details, and that should open up the capability for you to go into the transaction details on your side, and acknowledge receipt of the item. That should allow the payment to be completed.
