I hope that you've been able to complete your payment, however if you're still being asked to add a card, the reason for this is because PayPal requires that a debit/credit card be linked to the account as a backup funding source if you're wanting payments directly through your bank account. Once you've linked a card to the account, the option to complete the payment with your bank will become available. If needed, more details can be found here.
