Linking debit card on Paypal

Is it possible to link my debit card to PayPal because I don't own a credit card. I'm based in South Africa and I'm I need to verify my account but I'm stuck.

I’m having that same problem as well. I thought debit cards could be used as well but I’m not seeing any option for that
