My paypal account is in the Philippines and the credit card it is link with. I want to buy a used car from a private seller here in Australia. If I use Paypal to pay, how would my credit card issuer treat it as? a regular credit card purchase or a cash advance? I dont want to pay fee for cash advance.
thanks!

Hi @niceguy75,
That's a great question and depends on how the transaction is processed. If you send the payment for goods, it should process as a normal transaction. If you send it as a personal payment, it could come through as a cash advance. As a heads up, we do not offer Buyer Protection on purchases related to vehicles. We always say that it is safer to pay for the vehicle in person.
Thanks,
Drew

Thank you Drew! I guess I have to buy from a car dealer which can process the credit card payment as a regular one as opposed to a private Seller.
