It doesn’t let me add a bank account

I am trying to add a bank account to my paypal but each time I put in my information it says “there is a problem with your account please contact us so we can help you out” so I called them and they said type the last four digits of your credit card. But since I don’t have a credit card I can’t get through

Hi Dovidzilber and welcome, 

I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble adding your bank account. Do you have a debit card? It may be looking for the last for digits of your debit card number. We see debit and credit cards the same when they are registered on your PayPal account. If you are still having trouble getting through the verification when you are calling try choosing "calling as a guest" at the very start as this will allow you to call without being prompted to log in. You will need to validate when you get through to someone but it will allow you to get through.
