How long has the package been missing? If they find it, what happens? Does UPS return to you or deliver to seller?
Had that issue with a recent delivery to me.
UPS lost a $50 order. The order went in, UPS shipping paperwork (tracking number issued) prepared--and everything stopped there. UPS said they were still waiting for the pickup to happen two weeks later.
After two weeks, seller/shipper said package lost and sent another at no charge. I got it and happy me.
Two to three more weeks, and I get a SECOND package (i.e. the FIRST "lost" package). Scratched my head over that one.
Seller has local stores here, so I returned one package to a local store and all was good.
IMO, wait for UPS to issue refund to you first--or ask them to pay the customer the value of the shipment + shipping cost. You do not want to issue a refund and then have the package delivered to the buyer due to a UPS error.
