I cant link my bank and my visa card will not work.

I sent someone some cash and they received it and were able to withdraw and cash it no problem. However a few days later when I checked my bank I saw that the transaction was rejected. When I checked my PayPal I saw that I now have a summly negative balance. So I quickly attempted to add the difference but I was met with an error on my Debit card saying it was denied and my bank was not listed. So I tried to relink my bank but I keep getting a "try again later" error message.

I've been using paypal to buy things and send money for years with the same accounts. What happened and why can't I add my bank again or use my Debit? I would like to resolve my negative amount but I keep getting technical issues.

Thanks!

If you have had a failed bank transfer or negative balance then paypal or your bank may sever the link so you can't use that option as a funding source and must use the safer option (to paypal) of a card.

As they credit the seller upfront for you then if your processing payment from your bank account fails they are out of pocket until you pay them back again so they stop you using your bank account to reduce risk to the in the future.

You should still be able to use the debit card for purchases BUT you can only add funds to your paypal balance via a bank account so....

Ways to clear a negative balance.

1. Transfer funds from your bank account via "add funds" if you choose the faster method it should be done quickly.
2. Get a mate or family member to send you a payment to your paypal via the friends / family option (as long as they don't fund it with a card there is no fee).
3. Via a card over the phone with paypal.
