How long can I hold a paypal check

Hello everyone, this is just a basic question that I am curious about.

I've heard from my friends that when Paypal delivers a check, they give up to a week before cancelling the check and sending the money back into their paypal account.

Is this true?

PayPal tells you to wait 1 to 2 weeks for a check to arrive in the mail so it don't make sense that they cancel the check after or up to a week.

True, but I mean when they deliver; (Aka 1-2 weeks when it is in your mailbox).

Paypal says that your balance will be held for a week, if the check isnt redeemed, then they send it back.

Maybe it's a faulty error on my groups part.
