How does paypal mailing me a check work?

Heyyy, so i'm kinda new to paypal here, and I don't want my bank acc/credit card linked because of personal reasons. I just wanted to ask how paypal checks work, is it a reliable method since it takes a long time to mail out to me? Do they function like a normal check? Can I just drop it at a bank for it to be deposited into my account? Thanks in advance. Edit: I live in Singapore. Does this mailing cheque function work internationally?

If you don't add a bank account or card then your account would not be verified.

Also the cheque option is not available in Singapore available options in the link.
