Holds

Hi guys! Can I please ask a question? I am a freelancer, who just received my first payment, I was wondering if how many days will it really take for the money to be released from hold? When I get the payment, I immediately did the shipping information verification, the one where you need to label if you should add a tracking number, but since I rendered a service, and not a product, I just placed "no tracking info needed." It said that money will be in my available balance after 7 days. It has already been 7 days, and now it says that the money will be available in 21 days. In another portion, it says 60. How long will it really take? Please and thank you so much in advance..

The new seller hold in general stops once paypal feel you are a trusted seller and that is for your country......

  • Complete a minimum of 5 transactions;
  • Transactions amounting to US$100; and
  • Be a PayPal merchant for at least 60 days.

When funds are released.
1.
Normally funds are released when tracking shows delivery of the item to the buyer + 1 day as long as you used one of Paypals approved shipping carriers / Paypal shipping.
2.
If you don't send with tracking then funds are released at 21 days.
3.
If you are selling items to be collected / virtual items / services or where tracking is not used then you can mark the transaction as processed/shipped and the buyer 'may' have the option to confirm receipt of item or service on their Paypal account. IF the buyer agrees to do so and IF the option is available to them funds may be released earlier for you, however that is not guaranteed and you may have to wait the full 21 days.
4.
If its an ebay sale then funds from ebay may be released earlier with positive feedback.

Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
