Funds on hold

Hello I am a disabled veteran who happens to be homeless. My best friend sent me money on PayPal and PayPal put the funds on a 21 day hold. I need the funds for a hotel room. Does anyone know how I can get it off hold.

If you mark the transaction as processed then the sender may have the option on their account to mark the transaction as delivery/satisfied. If they confirm this by clicking on the "Confirm Receipt" button, the funds may be released to you sooner. This is not always guaranteed.
If not then sadly its 21 days.

Make sure they use the correct option next time.

Its down to how the payment was SENT to an account.

1. If sent using money > goods / services option then paypal would see the recipient as a seller and apply the new seller hold. They would also charge a fee.

2. If sent using the send money > family / friends option then the recipient would have the payment instantly (as long as it wasn't an echeque pending with a clearance date) with no fee. (However that option is not available in every country).

Hi @TripC84

Thank you for your service, unfortunately once a payment has been sent as goods and services it will be placed on a hold and there will be no way around it if you are really struggling please ask your friend to re-send the payment as friends and family and go ahead and refund the original payment to him/her 🙂

Thanks,

Harley

If this help please give me a kudo! 🙂
