I recently sold a phone on gumtree, like any other PayPal payment I sent them an invoice, and PayPal told me that my fund will be released into my account in 12-48 hours and that they was sorry for the delay, its been over 48 hours and there is no money, I contacted the buyer via WhatsApp about it and they read and ignored my message, was I scammed and he used a fake PayPal email or am I genuinely going to receive my money?
Paypal payments are more or less instant, if you were subject to a security hold then the funds would still SHOW in your paypal balance but with pending by them.
NEVER send anything until the funds are showing in your paypal account balance, until then you have not been paid.

I never used PayPal before to sell items its always been local, I have already sent them the phone and they have received it, it was insured and tracked and that but I received no money, may I have you email address to send you the emails of PayPal that I have been receiving saying that I will get the £185? I'm genuinely confused and scared that I have been scammed and that I'm not going to get any money now.
I don't give out personal info on a worldwide public forum but it sounds like this SCAM.
SCAM.
They encourage you to accept a 'direct' Paypal payment and may ask you to send the item internationally. No funds or activity of the transaction shows in your Paypal account and any emails 'may' go into your junk or spam folders.
You will get/got a "fake" email that looks as though it is from paypal.....it isn't because they don't actually have a Paypal account and have no intention of paying you. It will say the buyer has paid ...you won't have been paid. They will tell you that the payment is released when you provide paypal with a tracking/shipping number......this won't happen.
Paypal NEVER tell you to send an item before the payment is showing in your paypal account. Paypal do not tell you to send trackable, they advise it for selling protection but it is not compulsory.

So how can I get My money, I have sent not only a phone but a laptop, to 2 different buyers using this technique of scam so I thought it was genuine never using PayPal before, how do I get my £465 that was promised me for my phone and laptop?
