Crypto Sale Funds Hold

Why is crypto sale funds being held again for three days? It was my understanding that the hold was more for your first crypto sale, but NOT for every other transaction!  My last sale of ETH was for a larger amount, and that went immediately to my PayPal balance. I made this transaction logged into my personal Paypal account and it verified me using both facial ID and password. I am now losing money on a reinvestment opportunity due to hold and I was planning on doing this transaction on PayPal as well.  It's only $1,500 and not some five or six-figure transaction which would be more understandable.   This is no different than ransomware and feels more like short-term theft by PayPal....hope the mainstream media doesn't get ahold of this.   Is there a way of knowing BEFORE I do a sale if the funds are going to be held from me or not??  And I have read the 'Cryptocurrency on PayPal FAQ' which was not helpful.  And my app seems to think that this was an eBay transaction and I need to update my shipping address to get my money???!  I bought and sold crypto on CashApp and funds were always available instantly because I was verified by the app.  That's the point of verification....so we don't get our funds held from us.  It appears that PayPal is 'floating' our money for short-term investments of their own.  I would much rather pay fee for the transaction in exchange for not having the funds withheld from me and causing me to potentially lose hundreds in a missed re-investment opportunity.  So far, not a good experience on Paypal Crypto compared to other exchanges.   Also, it appears that resolution center is not accepting new tickets....keeps saying there is something wrong on their end.   Yeah, right!   Thank you for you prompt attention to this issue.

Absolute BS. If I had known, I wouldn’t have purchased the crypto. I’m never using PayPal again. Absolute trash of a site. It’s been having so many problems this past year.

I also had the same problem. I sold $255.32 of Litecoin and the funds have been on hold for seventeen days now. I will never do business with PayPal again and everyone that I have encouraged to invest in cryptocurrency I have and will continue to caution not to use PayPal for investing. It is very crooked for an organization to take a clients money and hold without cause, or warning. I have had a Paypal account for ten years and after this recent incident I can never trust them again.

Have done dozens of transactions. At first payments were held, okay - was new to the method/platform.  Been on/off buy/sell for several months now and this past week (holds had seemed to disappear) holds have crept in on every transaction.  5 or more days to get my money.  Seems that ol' paypal is playing the float.

If you wish to play the float, provide a SERVICE to the users.  Allow to set buy/sell limits, alerts, etc. Ridiculous to not offer that for these usarious fees!

Use Uphold for trading. They are all inclusive of fees so unlike coinbase you dont have to buy and keep eth to pay. You wont regret it! I love uphold. You will need to use a bank that links to plaid to withdraw money. Im having issues with Wells Fargo at the moment. May need to open a secondary checking for my crypto.

Same for me! I had no idea they could hold my funds. That’s really unfortunate. I use PayPal a lot. Not anymore! There’s no reason to hold funds for 4 days! They are going to make a lot of people mad by doing this. Once I get out with my money, I’ll never use them again for anything.

Got the same treatment here, was met with unhelpful canned responses from "customer support".

I can't understand how I can have a line of credit in the thousands of dollars and a 15 year history with a company, yet still have an amount in the hundreds get held on me. Real scummy PayPal, real scummy.

Suggest just removing crypto from your platform altogether if this is how you intend to treat your customers for using.

I will remove mine as well. Since I needed the money but they are holding too long. I choose PayPal because they said the money will be available the same day/time I sold my crypto. It's frustrating.
