Credit Card Charge

My credit card has an unfamiliar charge that looks like it's from Paypal. I checked my PP account and there is no such fee. Has anyone experienced this?  I'm thinking its a precursor to fraudulent activity. The charge looks like this on my account:

May 30
PP*9309CODEProfessional Services ..$1.95

<removed>, CA 95131 Appears on the statement as PP*9309CODE <removed>CA 95131 USA  Thanks for any feedback.

That's a great question! Thank you @kernowlass for your response on this one, that's some great information for guest transactions. This charge is related to our link and confirm process. @P357, have you added a new debit or credit card to your account recently? The 4 digits after PP* and before CODE is the 4 digit security code you'll want to use to confirm your credit card.

Here's a link to our Help Center with some great information on this process and when we may ask our users to confirm their card:  https://www.paypal.com/us/smarthelp/article/where-do-i-find-the-paypal-code-to-link-and-confirm-my-d...

Also, don't worry, we'll make sure we get that $1.95 back to you after we finish confirming your card. It normally takes about 3 business days for it to show up. Have a great day and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any more questions!

If you bought something online with a debit or credit card and did NOT log into your paypal account then of course it won't show on your paypal account as you bought as a 'guest buyer'.

However your seller may have processed that payment using their Paypal 'card reader' and so Paypal would show on your bank or card statement.

If that is not the case then contact customer services AND your card issuer to query the transactions.

If you need to open a dispute for a 'guest buyer' transaction then you can.......
1. Phone Paypal customer services and see if they will open one for you OR
2. Contact your card issuer for a chargeback.

Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
