Currently paypal will tell you your overall balance. is there any way to create a second balance account such as a second checking account? my new job transfers my money into my paypal and i need to withhold my own taxes. is there a second balance account i can add so i can just keep my withholdings in paypal still without confusing it with my incoming paychecks? thanks.

Unfortunately what you have in mind is not an option or feature.

Some accounts may be able to create sub balances to save for specific expenses with the PayPal Goals feature.

Here are PayPal links with details about Goals.

One has to love PayPal's FAQs -

Goals is easy to start using, here’s how:

  1. Log in to your PayPal account and click Create a Goal.
  2. Enter the Goal name and the amount of your Goal.
  3. Click Create your Goal.

No mention of the type of account needed (personal or business) or no mention of just where this option is.  It's not in my US Personal Account from what I can tell.   Sounds like it could be useful but, where is it ??    Seems the logical place would be in the Wallet (for Personal Account) - don't know.

Goals shows on the left when logging in from a desktop browser for me.

Try the Money tab in your account.

Also, here are the Goals links from within an account.

Thank you for screenshot.

Goals may be dependent on a Personal account having signed up for the PayPal Cash debit card, in order to have the feature enabled in the account.

The PayPal Cash card link does mention it as a feature.

Wow - that would almost qualify as an Easter Egg, (almost).
