Can't withdraw to prepaid debit anymore??

I've had a PayPal account since the early days of PayPal. For the past several years, my only bank has been Walmart's prepaid debit account, owned by Green Dot Bank. Until literally a couple of weeks ago, I have had no trouble with withdrawing funds to my debit card. For the past three days I've been getting an "unable to complete this transaction right now" message, so I contacted customer support (web chat) and was told they don't accept prepaid accounts. Since when?! When I asked if it had taken seven years for "the system to detect" that I was using a prepaid account, the agent told me "oh, we don't accept Green Dot accounts because we've had security problems with them".

1. Were they ever planning on telling anyone this?

2. Does anyone know how I can access my money now? I don't have another bank account, and this is the only money I have, so getting the cash is kind of important.

Thanks in advance!

Here is a PayPal link for the Cash debit card. This card is no cost and there is no monthly fee. The card is linked directly to your available PayPal balance so there is no transferring necessary.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Now to wait 7-10 business days for said card... I just wish that when they changed the policy I was given some kind of heads-up; I can't find any mention of it the TOS or anywhere else. 😕

You'll receive an email notifying you when your PayPal Cash card is mailed. When signing up for the Cash debit card, PayPal adds a direct deposit account for use with employer and government deposits into your PayPal account. The account and routing number can be found in your PayPal profile at the following PayPal link.

Here is a PayPal link with details on adding funds into your PayPal account at a local retailer. Make sure to update the PayPal app regularly when adding funds with Cash.

Your PayPal account may have an Acorns investment account link.

If you need a checking account and your account is enabled for Acorns, you may be able to sign up for the soon to be released Acorns checking account and link it with PayPal, (you will need to sign up for an Acorns investment account first). The checking account would be accessible by linking an Acorns investment account to your PayPal account. You would be able to transfer funds back and forth between PayPal and the Acorns investment and checking account.

Here are links with details on Acorns and the Acorns checking account.
