Can I use a card that is linked in a closed account in a new account?

A friend of mine closed his account and his card is linked to it, does it get removed when closed?

can he use the same card in the new account he will make?

He can't use a card on another account if linked to a closed one.

He would need to contact customer services and request them to remove it from the old one for him.
