money deducted when adding my card

hi 

i added my debit card when wanting to verify my account and money was then taken off from paypal. why did this happen and how do i get the money back

Thanks for contacting us and welcome to our community. When you add a card to your PayPal account, there will be a debit up to 1.5 USD. This will be refunded as soon as you confirm the card which has been added. Here is more information on why and how to link and confirm the card.
