Money received. Pending

I recently received money from a friend and it’s been on pending for days. I read some advice online that asked me to complete a tracking option(unnecessary)ie I didn’t know my account was on personal, and I did that. But still the money has been on hold and my friend didn’t receive any email.

Its down to how the payment was SENT to an account.

1. If sent using money > goods / services option then paypal would see the recipient as a seller and apply the new seller hold. They would also charge a fee.

2. If sent using the send money > family / friends option then the recipient would have the payment instantly (as long as it wasn't an echeque pending with a clearance date) with no fee if funded from a bank account or balance (a fee if you use a card). (However that option is not available in every country).

Seems as if the person that sent you the funds used the first option.
There are however some occasions where friends / family payments are held for reviews but these are normally only 24 hours.

So what do I do about it, considering they used the first option. I completed a tracking which was supposed to help the money arrive earlier but that didn’t help.

How can you add tracking if you didn't sell anything?

You said it was a friend sending you a gift payment so you would not have a tracking number would you?

Well, I thought add tracking would make me receive the payment earlier. However, the money is still on pending and I tried to issue a refund and that didn’t work either. What do I do now?
