I want to link my PayPal account to my Nigerian USD account but I keep getting the message "You can only link a bank account in Malaysian Ringgit". I temporarily moved to Malaysia and don't have a Malaysian Bank account. Can I still link my Nigerian USD account to PayPal? How do I do that? Thanks

Paypal is country specific so if you move countries you have to open another paypal account in the country you reside in and add an address / phone number / bank accounts / cards from within that country.
You should really withdraw any funds / resolve issues / remove cards and bank accounts before you move countries. If you don't then you may have problems doing so once you have moved and may need to contact customer services for help to resolve things.
There are some exceptions as some bank accounts can be linked to specific Paypal accounts in some countries, one of those is a U.S bank account as paypal is a US company BUT that has to be a bank account opened in the US and not just a USD bank account.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

but what will happen when paypal wants verification and my national id card/passport address wont match with the banks address(which would also be the address i will use to make the new paypal account abroad). cause last week they made me verify my identity by requesting phone bills, bank statements, national id card. of course they all match since im still in MY country.but what if they do it again once im abroad and they see the address on my passport doesnt match the address ive given to paypal when i created an account?

Hi @lowre,
Welcome to the Community and thank you for your post!
In general, to be able to verify your identity, we request documents such as driver's license, passport or state or government-issued ID. As a proof of address, instead, we require other documents such as card/bank statements, bills, government-issued letters or your national health service showing your name and address; the proof of address should not be older than 12 months. The address on your PayPal account has to match the address on the document provided.
The PayPal accounts are country-specific, our security system might be blocking the ability to log in from abroad. We recommend opening a different PayPal account if you temporarily move to a different country. In this case, you will have to use a different email address and sign up with your abroad address and card/bank new details.
Hope this helps,
Jenny
