That's a great question! It sounds like you're referring to a Funds Availability Hold. Payment holds are an industry standard practice used to help prevent financial loss for buyers and ourselves. Holds are usually placed on an account if you're a new seller, seller that has experienced a few hiccups in their selling history, or when selling high risk items. Most payment holds are removed 21 days after the transaction was received. There are a few things a merchant can do to release the payment hold sooner than 21 days.
