Error code: 70049

 I paid for a item on ebay - a i7 870 cpu. but it came back with this error. Error code:  70049 - and it took 109 out of my paypal account - but did not mark it as being paid....

I have the same problem, but i was charged $239 seven times. I hope this gets sorted quickly as i can't afford to be out of pocket that much.

Bought an item on ebay and got the Error code: 70049 and it seems it didn't get thru.

Tried again and again since nothing showed up neither on ebay nor paypal.  Now all of a sudden I see 3 payments went thru and no email or nothing to see in my history of purchases from ebay.

 

To be honest I am furious!!

 

Now lets see how many days this will take to get resolved. Maybe I should ask my credit card company to stop all payments to paypal!  Maybe we should all do this!

 

I can see some vendors will take advantage of this but for most of them it will be a mess to figure out of how and what.

I have the same issue. Received an error code. Repeatedly failed. I tried it around an hour later and it went through successfully. Now I have a large number of charges and even more 'Pending' on 'BillMeLater' - all for the same transaction.

Same here. I've been charged 6 times for an ebay item... Almost 250 GBP gone at the moment. I hope the seller is honest and will issue 5 refunds. I also disputed 5 transactions as unauthorized in Paypal but this company is a bit of a loose cannon so we'll see what happens.

What bothers me most is that ebay and paypal just say 'it's fixed now' but do not say on how to correct everything that went wrong because of them.

 

In my case I see 3 transactions on paypal with ebay reference numbers in them and in ebay 0 things bought so not like 'unpaid' what some people have reported.

 

We are at the end of the month and my credit cards company is going to get the funds from my account in just a couple of days.

If you read the thing about claims etc taking up to 30 days or longer for complex things we are in for the ride again.

 

Paypal better resolve it quicker or I will have to contact Visa (in my case) with all the evidence that I collected to stop paying them.  I know I am a small fish but if more people will do the same they might take action.

They make money on the funds that are in their account so it is a win situation for them now think about that one!

yestedayr after trying a number of times to confirm payment for an item i got an error message

 

 "Your request not be processed at this time. Error code: 70049."

 

however when i checked my paypal account a few hours later i noticed they charged me around 9 times for the same item!!!!  around the same number of times i tried. i even tried paying with credit card and got same error. i assume there was a problem with ebay. 

 

my item cost 4 dollars and 4*9=36dollars

 

i have been charged so much. i want to ask what is the problem and how do i get a refund????

So I guess we will be giving paypal a free loan because of their error.

 

What also bothers me here is that everyone keeps complaining but nobody of the posters goes on with the story on what is happening with their case

Lets see if I can get some legal action here involved.  

 

Ebay says nothing was bought yet they favor in the advantage of the seller whom I have emailed yesterday morning and hasn't replied to my email.
