Why is my account of many now called a new account?

I have used PayPal for many, many years yet today after signing in this is the greeting at the top of my activities page. 

"Hi, Dorris!

Welcome to your new account! Let’s get you set up to send, spend, get paid, and more."

Thanks for any info that can cast a light on this change in status.
