Why are you asking for personal information before release money in my account?

When I log into my PayPal account it says I have money waiting but I need to verify myself first. The questions that are asked smells of fraud to me. I have no intentions of telling PayPal what information is on my driver's license plus my social security #. What is going on? I understand the need to verify occasionally but I've NEVER been asked these personal questions before. I refuse to do it and I guess my 124.00 will stay there forever. (I don't even know where that came from). Anyone else have this happen to them?

Hi Beverly,

PayPal is obligated to verify the identity of its users. Verifying this information makes the service safer for everyone.

Here is a PayPal link with details.
