Unable to edit or remove old contact number

Hi, I'm unable to remove or edit my old number that I no longer own. So I added a new number and set it as my primary number and it worked. But paypal still it's using the old number for security check.

Error that I recieve when I try to remove or edit:
"Sorry, there's a problem. If you keep seeing this, please contact customer service."

I would appreciate any help.

I can't contact customer support, because it's asking for security check and sending SMS on the old number which I have no longer access to.

have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a personal message from their facebook or twitter pages.

I did that, they suggested I should call paypal to fix the issue. I guess there is no other way.
