Transaction does not appear in my account

Sometimes when I pay with PayPal I get a notice from my card company the something was charged to for example "PAYPAL *EZL DIRECT EBA"  But the transaction never appears in my PayPal account. Why?

Recently I had a fraudulent charge on my card and I am wondering if paypal somehow revealed my card info to the fraudster?

If you bought something online with a debit or credit card and did NOT log into your Paypal account then of course it won't show on that Paypal account because you bought as a 'guest buyer'.
However your seller may have processed that payment using their Paypal 'card reader' and so Paypal would show on your bank or card statement.

When I charge something at home depot and use paypal it appears on my paypal account. With some other vendors it does not whether I log in or not.

When a vendor uses the PayPal card reader, can they see the card info like the number an CCV?

Because no one has annswered my most recent question about vendors getting my credit card info, I have to assume they can. That is contrary to the only reason I use PayPal. I use it so vendors never see my credit card data.
