Setting up a credit card into a new account

Hello Community, I am opening a business Pay Pal account and I understand that I need to provide bank details but why do I need to provide a credit card? as I am selling not buying? thanks heaps Maureenr

Transfers from bank accounts are never instant, that is why when you buy something paypal credit the seller upfront for you and paypal take the wait for the funds to transfer to pay them back again, this is so you get your item without delay.

However to prevent them going as echeques when you take the wait this time, paypal require you to have a back up funding source ie a card linked to your paypal account as well.
