Hi,

You can verify your account by either adding and confirming a bank account, or applying for and being approved for a PayPal Credit product.

Verification of identity increases customer trust because it creates a higher level of confidence that a person is who they say they are. When other PayPal users see that you are a Verified User, they know you have taken the steps to provide additional evidence of your identity. This creates confidence and a willingness to do business with you.

However, we may ask you to confirm your identity to ensure you’re the one authorizing activity in your PayPal account. We may also do this as a security precaution if we see new or unusual activity, such as logging in to your PayPal account from a new device or from a different location. You can help avoid these checks by keeping your PayPal account up to date. Make sure your profile includes your current address, phone number, and personal information as well as your updated financial information.

You can add an extra layer of security to your PayPal account by enabling 2-step verification for log in. Once this feature is activated, we’ll send you a unique, random 6-digit access code each time you try to log in. Simply enter this code to access your account.

There are two ways to set up 2-step verification. You can use an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator) or you can ask us to send text messages to your mobile phone.

Here's how to set it up:

  1. Go to your Settings.
  2. Click Security.
  3. Click Set Up next to “2-step verification.”
  4. Choose to receive a text or use an authenticator app, then click Next.
  5. Follow the prompts to link your phone or authenticator app.
  6. Set up a back-up method in case you can’t access your primary cell or authenticator app.
  7. Click Done to activate 2-step verification.

You can deactivate 2-step verification at any time:

  1. Go to your Settings.
  2. Click Security.
  3. Click Update next to “2-step verification.”
  4. Click Turn Off next to 2-step verification, then the Turn It Off button.

For added protection, you can also add 2-step verification to other devices.

I followed your instructions to setup 2 factor authentication, but the app still will not allow me to send the money. I have tried on various devices including a pc.
