Secondary Email

So I was thinking about adding my to add my G-mail as my secondary email so I can receive a 1 dollar gift card from an application I use which is "Current". But when I was trying to add it, it said that the email was already in use. But I never used or open an account with that email. And the words in that email were unique so it was impossible for someone to have the exact same Gmail as mine. Is there anyway I can contact Paypal so I can know about the person who has been using my email? Please help me. Thank you in advance.

To give you more details so you could further understand my situation. The email I used to create an account in the app was my G-mail. I didn't realize until now that the gift card code will be sent to the email used in creating the account. The problem is I have my primary email as my yahoo.
