Im really at a crossroads right now and need to know some information. Over the past 6 months i have been selling computer equipment under my personal ebay account even though im selling it for a company that is shutting down its operations as i have 100% feedback and am a great seller. My question though is im quickly getting to the $20,000 magical number that will then require me to get a 1099k which is something that i dont want or need to happen. But the kicker is i didnt do all the business on ebay. ive had about 4000 come from a sale outside of ebay. does this still count in terms of getting the 1099k or is it just for ebay sales? Also would changing my personal account to a business account make any difference in this? Not trying to skirt anything. Just want to make sure im up and up.
